On behalf of the Sumter Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of Eta Zeta Omega Chapter.
Alpha Kappa Alpha, founded in 1908, is the oldest and largest sorority of its kind. Because of its status and 116 years of service, Alpha Kappa Alpha is upheld as “America’s leading Greek-lettered organization for African American women”. From its inception on the campus of Howard University, Washington, DC with one chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha stands at 360,000 members, and 1024 chapters in more than 55 nations, 12 countries including the United States, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Dubai, Germany, Japan, Liberia, Nigeria, South Korea, South Africa and the U.S. Virgin Islands. and all 50 states. In all that we do, and at the core of every program is a steadfastness to maintain high standards, to continue the legacy of community service, and to resolve to enhance the lives of others in our community and abroad. From public officials to the classroom and to the highest form of government agencies, educational institutions and community organizations worldwide Alpha Kappa Alpha women lead.
Eta Zeta Omega, the Sumter Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has been consistent in continuing to enrich the legacy of service in the Sumter and surrounding counties for more than 60 years. The Sumter Graduate Chapter is devoted to providing support for lifelong learning through our Target Programs of education, economic empowerment, women’s healthcare, global impact, and supporting the Black Arts movement and historically Black colleges and universities. We remain committed to serving as leaders of change and are devoted to addressing discrepancies within our communities.
The 2018-2020 international programs as outlined by our International President, Danette Anthony Reed, “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood”™ bonds Alpha Kappa Alpha women all over this world to focus our gifts, talents, and resources on addressing issues that affect our communities. Eta Zeta Omega is excited and proud to be an intricate part of supporting and executing the program initiatives which enrich the quality of life for citizens, promote empowerment and peace, and address challenges concerning women, girls, and the furtherance of all mankind.
